85: Double Duty Gift

I won a giveaway a couple of months ago, and got two hangers from The Pretty Pearl, over at Etsy. I decided to get initials for me and my MOH:

It looks great!

I decided it would be great to use for the bridesmaid dresses, and before that, I could give it to her with her hoodie, and I could use mine for my dress.

I then thought that everyone should have them, because they are just so awesome! I looked all over for hangers, and eventually found them at IKEA

I then added vinyl initials on each hanger, then put map pins into each hanger for the hook (it probably would have been better to find the faux pearl accents, but I wasn't having much luck finding them). Here's how they turned out:

The hanger with the initial and the map pin

The tag I added to each hanger

Tag tied to the hanger.

Sorry for the cell phone pictures.

I think they turned out really good!

Budget break-down:
Hangers: $1 each ($7.99 for 8) (mine & MOH's were free since they were part of the giveaway)
Vinyl for initial: free (Thanks, FFIL!)
Tags: free (on paper laying around)
Ribbon: not counting it since I'm using it for multiple projects

Total cost: $1 per really can't beat that!

Did you end up saving a lot on any project?

  1. this is a great idea! i was looking for something pretty to hang my bridesmaid dresses on to get some nice pictures and this is perfect. gotta love IKEA. :o)

  2. I love the idea of monogrammed hangers for a wedding party. Which is why I gifted my girls with them as well - pretty black satin padded ones with a silver charm initial tied onto a little black bow. I can't wait to see pics of them!!!

Good job on creating yours...make sure your photog gets some detail shots of them! :)

I love getting feedback & comments! Leave me something :)
